System Update

NC Cardinal features will be unavailable February 26 to March 5

During the week of Monday February 26th-Monday March 5th, NC Cardinal is undergoing a system-wide update. The library will remain open, but these library features will be temporarily unavailable:

  • Placing holds online
  • Logging into your library account online or having staff check your account
  • Renewing any library materials
  • Paying library fines

There will also be no incoming holds during this period and all resource sharing will be suspended from February 20-March 6th.  Please ask a staff member for any other assistance. Thank you for your patience.

What is NC Cardinal?

The Iredell County Public Library is now part of NC Cardinal. NC Cardinal is a network of twenty-seven public libraries across North Carolina that have joined together to share books, resources and library cards.

What does this mean for you?

  • You can choose from over five million books in all NC Cardinal libraries, even hard-to find titles not in the Iredell County Public Library. With a click you can easily request that a book from any NC Cardinal library be sent to the Statesville, Harmony or Troutman libraries for you to pick up. And it's all free!
  • You can use your Iredell County Public Library card at any of the twenty-seven NC Cardinal member library for no additional charge. This includes libraries in Davie, Forsyth, Wilkes and Yadkin Counties.  Use your Iredell County Public Library card when you're in Ashville, Boone, Hendersonville, Winston-Salem, Fayetteville or any other NC Cardinal Library when you're traveling or on vacation.
You don't need to do anything to activate your library card for NC Cardinal. You can use your Iredell County Pubic Library card at any NC Cardinal library.
