What is Library Elf?

Library Elf is a free service that reminds you to return your books before they are are due! Elf is like a personal assistant, whose task is to help with keeping track of what you have on loan from the library.

Designed with the busy or avid library user in mind, Elf is ideal for families with multiple library cards. Elf makes it easier to keep track of what's due, overdue or ready for pickup from one or more library accounts. Your library account is checked every day and e-mail notices or text messages are sent when items are coming due, overdue or when holds are ready for pickup.

Who uses Library Elf?

  • Email and/or text message alerts up to seven days before items are due!
  • Email and/or text message alerts on overdues and holds.

How do I get started?

Complete the simple sign up form and register your library card number(s).


Library Elf is developed and maintained by JANDI Enterprises Inc. JANDI does not hold agreements, contracts or is in any way associated with the Iredell County Public Library. If you become a user of ELF, you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.  The Iredell County Public Library cannot provide assistance on the use of ELF.

Prior to becoming a user of ELF you should read and understand the Terms of Use of the Service as well as the Privacy Policy of JANDI. The Iredell County Public Library does not have access to alter the information stored on JANDI servers. If your ELF account becomes corrupted or your data becomes invalid the user is responsible bringing resolution to any situation that may occur.

Be aware that you are disclosing Personally Identifiable Information ("PII") to third party when you register to use ELF. PII is a term used to describe your name, telephone number and other personal information. The Iredell County Public Library not have control over what ELF or JANDI do with your PII.

Email and text messages alerts are provided as a courtesy. JANDI Enterprises Inc. or the Iredell county Public Library are not responsible for any fines, fees or charges as a result of direct or indirect use of Elf.
