Local Author Sponsorship
The Friends sponsor book signings at the library for local authors, who through this partnership are able sell their books in return for a small donation to the Friends.
The Iredell Friends of the Library provide direct funding for many library programs and services:
Local History Projects
The library is currently digitizing its historic photograph and newspaper collections. The Friends assisted by purchasing archival supplies to preserve originals and negatives.
The Friends also purchased a large document scanner using grant funds, which is available for public use and aids in the preservation of historic documents.
Library Programs
The friends fund programs, performers, food, and supplies not covered by the County budget. All programs provided by the library are free of charge, with the exception of the Friends of the Library annual fundraising meeting.
Book Sale
The Friends sponsor a quarterly book sale to raise funds for library programs. 100% of funds raised go towards helping the library.
