Join the 2024 NoveList Reading Challenge!

2024 NoveList

Start off the new year with a reading challenge.

The NoveList Reading Challenge offers 12 unique prompts designed to help you stretch those reading muscles and step out of your comfort zone. Click Here to sign up to receive emails with each month's themes and reading recommendations. This challenge is geared towards adults and older teens.

Late start? No problem! Readers are welcome to join the challenge at any point during the 2024 calendar year as long as they complete all 12 reading prompts.

2024 Reading Themes
January
Start off the year exploring new authors by reading a 2023 debut. 
February
Read a romance or love story starring Asian characters.  
March
Read a book from the last five years that's been adapted into a movie or TV series. 
April
Discover the joy of communal reading! Read to or in a group of two or more.  
May
Read a standalone manga or the first volume of a manga series.
June
Keep it quick by reading a novella.
July
Read a book set in Australia or New Zealand.  
August
Enjoy a mix of magic and the macabre with a dark fantasy.
September
Get ready for the coziest season by reading a cozy mystery.
October
Embrace the scary by reading a creepy horror novel or ghost story.  
November
Read a novel by an Indigenous author.
December
Wrap up the year with an award-winning book from the last three years.


Prize for Completion

Any patron who successfully completes the 2024 NoveList Reading Challenge and turns in their reading log at the end of the year will be able to choose one of the following prizes: a library branded tote bag, can glass, or baseball cap. Logs can be exchanged for prizes from December 9th, 2024 - January 31st, 2025.
